Butcher/Meat Cutter

We are a full service butcher shop with only our meat from our farm.  Beef, pork and chicken are all custom cut fresh.  We also carry products from other local farmers that are committed to producing quality, clean, nutrient-rich products.  Our store is open Monday-Saturday 9:00am-6:00pm.

We are seeking an energetic, experienced Meat Cutter to join our team of professionals in our Deli/Butcher Shop/Grocery.   

Core Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, trim, weigh cuts of meat
  • Package meat and store correctly
  • Discuss different cuts with customers, including how to cook and safely store them
  • Take and fill customer orders
  • Help (like all staff members) keep work areas clean

Qualifications:

  • Minimum two years’ experience working as a butcher/meat cutter, preferably in a retail environment
  • Clear understanding of how to weigh and portion cuts of different kinds of meats
  • Ability to use equipment such as meat grinders, saws, and other tools to break down meat into portions
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations, especially hygiene standards and correctly washing/storing of meat cutting tools
  • Able to carry meat and other items, up to approximately fifty pounds
  • Good communication skills with team members and with customers, including ability to discuss different cuts enthusiastically with customers
  • Creative, courteous, patient, and friendly, as repeat customers are important to our business

Full Time position, hiring immediately 
$20-25/hour plus commission
